Dr Kim Frumar
Dr. Kim D. Frumar is the Medical Director of the Northern Laser Vision Centre located in the heart of Chatswood on Sydney’s North Shore.
He is a former Chairman of Ophthalmology at the Sydney Adventist Hospital and is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at the Royal North Shore Hospital as well as Lecturer in Clinical Ophthalmology at Sydney University. He is a Visiting Ophthalmic Surgeon at Dalcross Private and the Ophthalmic Surgery Centre, Chatswood.
Dr Frumar is a member of the Royal Australian College of Ophthalmologists (RACO), Royal College of Ophthalmologists UK (RCOphth), American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), International Society of Refractive Surgery (ISRS), American Academy of Ophthalmology (OAA), Australian Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery (AUSCRS) and the Australian Medical Association (AMA).
Having had over 20 years experience working with Ophthalmic Lasers in various aspects of eye surgery, he was the Rene & Francis Hock Fellow and later the Wellcome Fellow at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. The challenge of accurate vision correction achieved in cataract surgery lead him to develop an interest in excimer laser refractive surgery on the cornea.
He has an active involvement in the design of surgical instruments and surgical computer software for cataract and refractive surgery. Dr Frumar has lectured internationally and taught at Phacoemulsification (Cataract Surgery) Workshops in many centres throughout South-East Asia
